bon eco - good ecology
maintaining a respectful relationship with ones surroundings

Bon Eco is a design house in rural Eastern Ontario. Its name is derived
from nearby Bon Echo Park, a destination for native pictograph artists
and Group of Seven plein air painters. This region is called “Land O'Lakes”
for its abundance of freshwater basins in the exposed Canadian Shield.

Bon Eco's designs are a response to the surrounding natural
environment's physical form, colour, texture, light, flora and fauna.

Bon Eco lives respecting its surroundings by:

- Being resourceful -
- Choosing restoration before replacement -
- Sourcing local materials and suppliers -
- Working and living locally -

In 2005 Hans Honegger and Carolyn Butts refurbished the abandoned
Tamworth Home Supplies complex into a full service design house.
